The BlendJet has quickly become my favorite kitchen tool!

This mini blender has recently transformed my food preparation! My Ninja blender is great but I can rarely use it because it is so darn loud. Typically I’m only cooking if one or both children are napping. Then there’s the clean up and dishes afterwards.

Several months ago, I came across the BlendJet because it was advertised as a convenient way to make baby food purees. The advertisement showed a mom pureeing fresh veggies while holding her infant. I was stunned and intrigued.

Fast forward a few months and that’s exactly what I did when I made Michael’s first food! To make it even more perfect for busy moms (and all busy people) is that to clean the BlendJet, all that is required is putting a drop of dish detergent and some warm water inside and blending it for a few seconds. Done. That means you don’t even have to “wash the dishes” after you use it!

Michael loves eating beet puree!

5 Awesome Uses for the BlendJet

  1. Baby Food Purees – simply steam the veggie or fruit, add it to the BlendJet with 1-2 oz liquid (water or breastmilk) and blend for 1-2 cycles, until it reaches the desired consistency. I was shocked how smooth the food gets – I pureed peas and it was silky smooth, unlike when I used my big blender and ended up with a gritty puree. It also makes the perfect amount – I can make as much or as little as I want, unlike a standard blender which needs quite a bit of food in order to work properly.
  2. Pancake batter – I have been able to blend veggies such as zucchini or squash right into pancake batter! I add all the wet ingredients (zucchini, eggs, almond milk) and then I add the dry ingredients on the second cycle (brown rice flour, flaxseed, baking powder, salt), and its done in 2 minutes!
  3. Hummus – easier and faster and creamier than ever!! I don’t have to wait until nap time is over to make my favorite food. Simply add all ingredients with a little bit extra olive oil and water and blend until smooth. (My recipe includes chickpeas, olive oil, a splash of lemon juice or vinegar, 1 small garlic clove, salt, cumin, and water.)
  4. Pesto & Sauces – I often make my own sauce for pizza or pasta using a variety of ingredients, ranging from basil, olive oil, parmesan, and salt to butternut squash and nut milk. I even experimented with a zucchini & broccoli sauce for pizza and Thomas actually ate and enjoyed it! Win!!
  5. Smoothie bowls & Smoothies – we can now enjoy smoothies and smoothie bowls any time of day. If I’m using frozen fruit, I find it works best if I add all of the liquid and 1/2 of the fruit, blend, and add the rest of the fruit so it can get thick without getting stuck. It also helps to gently shake the BlendJet while blending if it’s too thick.
Thomas’ favorite breakfast: blueberry smoothie bowl with organic corn flakes and more blueberries!
