They brew beer AND kombucha – do you know how rare it is to find fresh, delicious, probiotic-rich kombucha on tap?!

It gets betterthey also grow their own hops, tons of peppers, herbs, and vegetables – and then serve them on their homemade pizzas! (the veggies that is, the hops go into the beer 😉 )

So when my husband, Eric, wanted me to come with him to this brewery, he didn’t have to twist my arm!! I couldn’t wait!

After meeting and chatting with the awesome brewer, Andrew Brown, we sampled their seasonal special kombucha, the “Apple Pie Booch!” It was so fresh and like no kombucha I had ever had before!! Brewed with black & green tea, this “booch” featured local apples, cinnamon and nutmeg. It was much more full-bodied than any kombucha I’ve had from a bottle. It legitimately smelled and tasted like real apple pie – impressive! Both Eric and I got a glass and sipped on it as Eric showed me the property, which he knew I would love, full of its natural beauty, herbs, and plants. There’s even a disc golf course nestled into the trees and garden!

Afterwards we headed back inside and ordered a homemade thin-crust pizza which was equally impressive, and Eric ordered some beer (their Oktoberfest beer got 5/5 stars from a tough beer critic!). We stayed for a while as we enjoyed the relaxed environment, the food, and especially the drinks 🙂 Afterwards, we continued on our mini road trip to spend the weekend with Eric’s parents at their beautiful bed & breakfast, Magnolia Manor, in Westminster, SC!

Golden Grove Farm & Brew is just over 90 minutes northwest of Columbia and just 20 minutes south of Greenville, so it’s a quick and easy drive.

We’re heading back on our way to Magnolia Manor for Thanksgiving to get a growler of their next kombucha brew, which may have some notes of cranberry and ginger… mmm!!

Oh – and for the gluten-sensitive beer fans, they also brew gluten-reduced beer!!! Now that’s a truly unique find!! (I think we’re going to leave with multiple treats for the Thanksgiving weekend 😉 )
